Fishing quite slow and worsened as conditions deteriorated and the wind and rain arrived. The highlight was a feisty 5lb barbel caught in the fast water. The "other" was an eel.

Fished a few hours in the morning before breakfast managed 6 chub on spinner, No salmon seen
Popped back late afternoon with the fly rod
Sawa couple of salmon show in the vanstone pool but no takers. Enjoyable morning & evening fishing
Nice to see access to pools strimmed as this is one of my favourite beats & in the past had to fight your way through vegetation to get to the river.

We thought it was going to be hard going today but had a bit more success than imagined. The fish were all caught in the slower, coloured water which we only fished in the afternoon as we spent the morning trying to find them in the more oxygenated water.
A difficult beat, not many swims and one whole section not exclusive due to the camping site so we won't be back on this one.

Very nice stretch and nicely maintained. 3 fished on the beach at the bottom of the beat, feeder baited with halibut pellets. Also fished a swim mid way and caught 6 of the chub and a small barbel
