Water levels very low, swims overgrown and difficult to access, far bank from Orchard upwards has been developed, there were anglers also fishing that side of the river.

Just a very quick mooch up on my local beat this morning , only did an hour and a half on the good old Kington beat . She’s low like everywhere to be honest , but I did thermometer dip it just for interest and it was sitting at fourteen degrees …. It’s a shame this pathetic drizzle doesn’t come to decent proper rain …. Come on weather gods stop this faffing around !!!!!! We need four good days of it …….

The fishing was the usual jungle tactics for Kington , tricky going , and two brownies very hard earned on a tiny Parachute Iron Blue , good takes on it too ….. I didnt grapple , and climb over the huge ash tree , and I’ve given up asking if it’s going to be dealt with !!!!! Had to wade all the way back down stream , as there is no other way out !!!! Just a chainsaw step in it would suffice or a cut into it so it passable , as it’s over a very deep pool , and walking around it isn’t an option !!!!! Perhaps that’s why it’s hardly been fished this season , folks reading the reports don’t fancy doing the all arms Commando assault course !!!!!!

Anyway , I realise these things happen , but it’s been there a while now , second season I think ??? Fishing the couple of hundred yards up was good fun , a few fish rising in the heads of pools , and I did have the two that were rising , both about eight inches ……..

Will try the Edw again later in the week , between shifts , something to look forward too , let’s hope a bit of rain over Builth way , to liven that little river up !!!!! A fun quick session on an old favourite , sorted !!!!!!
