Fished top section. River low but still plenty of little runs and deep pools . Ideal for dry fly. Lots of fish rising all day. 7 caught and many missed. All fish on a small,16, black klinkhammers. Most fish 6.8in range ,best pushing 10in. If you like fishing pocket water, light tackle and the dry fly thoroughly recommend.

Warm, sunny with gentle breeze - river very low. Still insect hatches and near perfect conditions with fish rising. First-half of day spent Euro-nymphing with great success up towards the rapids and channels from higher end. Latter part of day on dry-fly, with various takes off v. small March Browns, Adams, Peculiar and Iron Blu' Dun. Key to it seemed to be presentation - a right cast and drift produced a bite; a bad one did not - simples ! :) Also changing fly quite frequently to see what and how they were responding (CDCs produced nothing).

2nd trip to this beat. A few flies coming off through the day but only the odd fish rising. 4 fish caught and as many missed. 3 in the 7 to 8 in bracket but 4th nice fish 10 to 11in in tip top condition, took about 5 mins to land leaping clear of the water several times. All fish safely returned. Two canoes appeared in the afternoon telling me they had permission from Raby Estates. Fish caught on mix of wet and dry. 2 fish on olive klinkhammers, 1 on greenwell spider and 1 on hares ear nymph. First time used the passport scheme and very happy with the service
