The best fish 16". Slow trickly of MB throughout the day, no prolific hatch.

One dead fish floating downstream. Didn't see any evidence of a spill etc though.

It was a warm sunny day. Some fish rising and jumping but only managed to tempt one which broke off.

Fished the bottom half of the beat. Plenty of aggressive smolt/parr, and a few nice trout and grayling. All fish taken on nymphs

River pitifully low. No sign of insect or fish life, so I packed it in after 2 hours of fruitless searching and casting in the few remaining riffles. Still a wonderful place to be on a fine Spring day !

Nothing caught, tried dry fly and nymphing. Seems river has very low concentration of fish.
The river appears to have layer of silt on the bottom from farm run off which may be affecting quality of fishing. We also found 3 decent sized dead brown trout, may have been otter but were uneaten.

Tricky fishing as the river is quite narrow surrounded by lots of small trees and some high banks in places, that said, this is wild fishing so if you want manicured beats perhaps try the River Test.
Didn't see any fish rising even though I had a couple of May Fly resting on my jacket at one point. Tried a variety of dry flies with just one take that I missed due to me admiring the scenery at the time !!

Started under bridge and had a few pulls but again was too slow. Tight line nymphing was the order of the day. Gave this a couple of hours then decided to move. River very low but still had enough flow as I reached the Spout where I connected with a beautiful Grayling which waved goodbye as it danced off the hook. However did land a 10' Garyling later on my own Black Magic nymph. It was the up stream wind that got too strong so I decided to head back to Builth Wells for a pint or two.

1 Trout, 1 Grayling
