Another lovely warm day on the Wye. Both trotted maggots for some Chub action. Cold snap coming next week.

River low but lovely weather. All caught on small weighted PTN (size 16) fished upstream. Grayling to 3/4lb, one trout about 1lb. All released easily with barbless hooks - some released in the water without touching!
Lovely beat and definitely returning

Took advantage of the warm autumnal weather. Relaxing day. Quiet and peaceful.

A couple of OOS trout but failed to locate any grayling at the bottom of the beat today.

Fished the top half of the beat. Failed to find the grayling but one oos trout grabbed my nymph. One salmon moving around.

Very quiet not a bite all day water gin clear a big salmon threw itself into the air by me. As you enter the beat owner says a lot of salmon in pool directly to the left. The owner said lots of people say either nothing here or a great day fishing. There are hardly any gutters here so I think it’s all about water height and colour. Used a Klink and dink with small beaded grhe on the point and pink nymph above and klinkhammer. Wading and casting here are easy. Beautiful patch of river lots of benches waterside to sit.
