All fish taken on Black ptn under klinkhammer. Water a little low and very clear, so many fish spooked first cast. Lovely beat, access a little tricky in a couple of spots, steep banks and some undergrowth, but nothing insurmountable, all in all a pleasant evening session.

Following the rain three days ago the river had dropped to 9” on the Ddoll Farm gauge and the water was clear and 11 - 12 degrees. The day was pretty calm with little breeze and some sunshine but also very few bugs: some midge, a few sedge, hardly any upwings and very few rising fish. Bugged early on and had a few grayling but then had all other fish, mainly non-risers, on a size 18 olive Ducks Dun. Grayling from 8 -16” and trout all <10 inches. Hoping we don’t have another heatwave any time soon. Regrettably, no sign of much needed rain.

I don't want this to be negative, just factual. 1/2 of the fishery (upstream of car park) cannot be accessed - high banks, overgrown, no attempt at creating swims.. This only leaves the downstream section - about 150yds available.
Due to the conditions the majority of this is 20-40 yrd wide channel....ok for roving, which was fine for me in waders and no one else fishing.
There are 3 swims suitable to settle in, but one is next to the water abstraction generator at the car park - noisy until turned off about 3pm . If there are other anglers fishing on the day, and these swims are taken, it will be a struggle. If work was done on the upstream section then it would be a more attractive proposition for the money.
