Bowled up at the lovely pull in at the Hundred House beat .... always a pleasure parking here and my usual drills on getting out , cup from the flask and a peer over the bridge ..... lovely !!!!!!!
Tackled up with my usual six foot two weight rod and a single Goldbead PTN fished in the usual deep holes and had four this morning in my three hours there ... absolutely lovely solid takes too ..... silver fish at the mo ; not the buttery Edw fish of Summer ! But with some feeding and settling into their feeding lanes they'll soon colour up .... some new obstacles here too .... didn't appear much of a problem but getting in and out regularly is part and parcel of the wild streams ...... good exercise too !!!
Only fished perhaps just over half then cut out into the field where the farmer was sorting out flood damaged fencing !! Getting the old thumper going !! Pppffftttt I didn't envy him .... must admit fencing is always put so close to streams !!! Can't think why ! Always see good fencing just hanging in the air !! Oh well ... land use at a premium it seems .......
A fun few hours on one of my favourite beats .... lovely job ..... May give Talybont a crack next week ... hoping the weather behaves .... Happy days !!!

Bright sunny day, gentle breeze, river low and clear. Started nymph fishing at about 11.30 caught a 1lb fish soon after. By noon olives had started to hatch. Put on a dry, by 3pm, when the hatch dwindled, I had netted 4 more fish, all around a pound or slightly less. As is typical, the best fish came off, it was clear to see whilst playing it.( about 1.5lb)
A very pleasant day.

Back on the beautiful Abernant beat.
Love this location.
Fished hard for a salmon on fly and spinning, but no takers.
Vicious gusty wind blowing straight down the river. When this eased and the sun came out lots of LDO and March Browns coming off, but fish reluctant to rise.
Put the salmon kit away and got out the #4. Fished a klinkhammer for an hour and managed 5 grayling, largest about 10 inches.
Called it a day when the showers started to get heavy.
