Barbel activity from late afternoon. Two decent chub.

So many birds about - wonderful cacophony throughout the evening.

We caught 3 Barbel best 8lb 15oz & 10 Chub, back in October hopefully with a bit more water!

PERCH. Paying £20 for trout fishing and catching perch is in class one reservoir is not on. If i wanted to catch course fish i could have fished pontsticill .

This is a lovely beat, fantastic scenery. We caught plenty of Chub and some Barbel from the more oxygenated water. All on either meat or pellets. The river is very low but all fish were in good condition and fought well. Just before dark a barn owl was hunting in the meadow adjacent to the river. We had a great day. Thanks W&U.

Ffynnon lloer is the highest fishable lake in Wales (look out for upcoming content on the Fishing In Wales blog!) it was a tough climb, over an hour and very steep. Another breath-taking place with incredible views. The lake was calm, making it very hard going - in parts it is very shallow and gin clear. A few fish were rising, but beyond range. Looked like good fish. One was caught of 3/4lb not long after we started. After climb down we tried llyn idwal on other side of valley. Walk much easier about 20 minutes. Some stunning trout here, from 10 to 13 inches, a good few about 12 inch. Tourists everywhere here, so worth taking a float tube.

Not the most peaceful of days, lots of walkers, bikes etc. But a nice days fishing 3 Barble to 9lb 2 and 1 Chub.
