Another 1st for me on this beat and another successful session it turned out to be! The day was warm and cloudy at times with a bit of colour in the water . Access to swims is generally good with the main push of the river towards the near bank. Parking in the field is the only issue as the access is badly rutted. Fished in the afternoon until about 7.30pmish ( one day I’ll fish the prime time!) and ended up with 6 barbel to just over 9lbs and 4 chub to just shy of 5lb all fish coming to mini boilies or meat . The barbel all fought like demons in the near bank gulleys and came from 3 different swims. Another enjoyable day on a W&U stretch and one I would definitely return to !

Thank goodness I booked on line here as ticket machine shed locked . Forestry track to carpark on south side 500m west of dam wall still closed . The 2 dwr cymru water keepers were excellent .

Cloudy conditions, river normal level, many more swims available due to good swim clearances
Around 18:00 River turned a chocolate colour very quickly though river didn't rise and no rain? Something I've never seen before?? Was hoping not serious but still caught on meat and pellet.

A great days fishing in mixed weather conditions in Beats 4 and 5. Fished first light until dusk for two Chub and two Barbel, caught on paste wrapped boilie and groundbait/pellet feeder. River level dropping throughout the day. First visit to the Wye and hopefully not my last. Would highly recommend The Fishing Passport.

As always, a lovely day at Lyepole. One of my favourite places to fish. Weather was perfect/ Trout and Grayling were interested all day. I managed to get 2 lovely medium sized trout on the dry plus two grayling the same way. My friend also had a great day, with 3 Grayling and a Trout almost landed that shook the line off. Lost in the trees in this glorious place, cant wait to come back again next year.

Lovely rural setting passing through a farm yard to reach the river. Swims with easy access to the waters edge near the parking area(next to diesel pump) with beaches further downstream. I fished about 60 yards downstream of the pump. River fining down during the day, bites and fish coming in the afternoon. Fished feeder and pellet with varying hook baits. Float fishing would have been a good option as the swim had a large shoal of Chub present (only brought 1 rod).
