Very low river, Crystal clear with bright sunshine. No activity during the day except for 1 chub, but 1 barbel at dusk.

Alternated between a single dry fly and team of wet flies. The wet flies proved the more effective. Tough fishing conditions in the bright summer sun but great fun nonetheless and learnt a lot with Oliver Burch!

Water level dropped by 2ft in last couple of days . Caught on pellet and sweet corn.

Moving bait (corn) for was more effective than stationary.

Fished below the suspension bridge. Beautiful spot but fishing not helped by bright sunlight and swimmers in the river. Barbel on krill boilies and chub on sweetcorn and marine halibut boilies.

Fished the woods on an evening ticket 1st 2 casts
= 2 Barbel 8lb. Then 8 1/2lb then the next 5 hrs not a touch but happy days ????
