A calm day with just 6" on the WUF Llanstephan guage, so plenty of water accessible on the upper and lower sections of the fishery. Some pale wateries in the morning, some midge, a few Yellow Mays. Sedges also flying around late-afternoon. Some rising fish all day, so stuck to fishing on the top. Had fish on a size 18 HE emerger and size 18 pale HE Duck's Dun. Late afternoon also took fish on a Goran's Sedge variant. Most grayling were from this season's abundant Wye 9-10" year class plus a number of 12-13" fish as well. Most trout <10", apart from a couple of 12-13" fish and 16" 1.5 pounder. Plenty of jagged and long-distance released ladies as well, so a fruitful and busy day all round, also including some time spent gardening. All quiet by 6 p.m.

Quiet day (great weather) until 5pm and then 8 fish in an hour. First day of trout fishing with my son on the Wye. Would have loved to stay later as the rise was starting. Covered a small area of the upper beat, will return to work out what we missed.
Grayling caught on Adams and PTNs. Brown on Adams.

Overcast day. Stayed in same swim all day. River looked ideal. 2 barbel lost then 1 landed at 6lb 3oz on feeder with pellet.
14 Chubb various sizes up to 4lb 12oz on float with luncheon meat. Excellent work by Stephan cutting in steps and supplying ropes for safe access to swims. Thanks to W&UF. I shall return.

No sign of fish, none caught did see a Kingfisher though. River in good condition which made blanking all the more disappointing. Tried NZ style nymphing, sinking beaded nymphs and wet fly tactics, no tugs or pulls felt at all.
Worth noting that one of the access gates to the upper stretch is padlocked. Why is this? Climbing over is therefore necessary.
Worth noting, wading is very treacherous, take care.
