Well has a wee window this morning so opted for a fairly local beat , the Whittern beat of the Arrow !! Overcast and dull when I parked up at ten to nine ,.positively late for me !!! A tinge in the river from the last fee days of on snd off rain , and the river slightly freshened up,.lovely job !!!
Fish looking up from the off to be honest !! And second pool head , a lovely satisfying splashy take. . . Spot on nice start !! And it went like that all the way up to the second bridge !! Had some fun in the glides too , careful casting to risers as water is only a foot deep in places !! Lovely slurping takes too , and the fish go.mad in shallow water !!!! Cracking !!!
Had three thus morning in a tally of eight to net that were really good Fish, probably between twelve and thirteen inches , absolute crackers too !!
I stayed on a sixteen Patachute Iron Blue thf whole time I was there !! And didn't even.loose that fly !! In fact the same one has served me well on the Kington beat and Llynfi Dulas . . . . Lol !!!
Anyway , a really pleasant three hours only went a bit passed the second bridge in the lovely riffley water !! Always a banker of a good take by one or two brownies along that stretch ,.and it didn't disappoint this morning either !! Back here soon , haven't fished this one much this season , may give it an early bash later in the week , lovely job !!!

Access to river extremely difficult, barbed wire fences making it impossible to fish most of it. Very nice fishing in the bits I could get to. Had an enjoyable day but better access would make it so much better. Biggest trout 12ins

Day 2 of our trip was a mirror of the first; fish not to be found in their usual spots, but moving around paid off. Better fish came from the slower and deeper sections at the top of the beat. NB: Great caution required on the path down to the bottom swims, which has been almost completely washed away by the winter floods - parts of it are extremely treacherous, so be careful!

Brilliant day. The rain helped in the evening. Had six fish the largest around a pound and in mint condition. All put back where they belong. Good fly life in patches but as it went dark the river was boiling and was really good sport.
