A pleasant spot for a few hours. Very pretty wild fish. Nymphing due to conditions, water clear but very dark peat stain and running quite high.

Enjoyable day 3 trout on Nymphs, nothing rising.

One 8 lb hen from Grassy bank at Spreadeagle time 11.30 Then a 9 hen from Glanwye both reasonably fresh .

2 Salmon

No Salmon caught. Nice weather and river at a good height. We spoke to the 2 Member Rods at the hut and they were friendly and gave us good advice on what pools to fish. It was a nice day albeit a 240 mile round trip for us !

2 Barbel

Only one fished. Great days again on this beautiful stretch. Most of the fish caught on the float with small 6mm pellet. Biggest barbel was 6lb most of them were in the 3-4lb bracket. The stamp of chub though was great all but one was over 3lb and the biggest being 5lb 9oz.

Always a pleasure fishing this stretch - plenty of access along its length for the roving angler at this time of year (long handled net required in most places). Fish caught on pellets and meat.
