A hopeful evening trip with mayfly in mind. Whilst there were a few about, absolutely no surface activity seen. Water height is good and clarity ok, but probably could do with fining off a bit more. Managed 2 to klinkhammer. Nothing on the nymph below. Both good fish, the second fighting like a demon.

The few upwings hatching today sailed down the river largely unmolested. We had just one fish on a dry, the rest coming on a mix of nymphs and small streamers.

Fantastic day on the Abernant beat. One 10lb salmon from middle of Lady Alexander pool on fly at 11am.
5 trout up to 2lb- all returned except one.
Excellent access to the river and stunning surroundings.

13lb salmon from The Orchard on 1'' conehead Ally's Shrimp.
1lb trout from Leaning Willow
Water was still fairly high, but colour was excellent.

Quite a steady hatch of olive uprights and yellow mays trickling off through the day buy the fish don’t seem to have switched onto them properly. Did manage a couple on dries but the majority came to nymphs on the french leader.
Actually lost count of fish....around 15+
