Near enough torrential rain all day but river up with decent colour so the Barbel played ball.

Only 2 anglers fished.

Using Llyn B to save my fishing trip. 2 fish to hand but very hard work with gusty winds and lots of rain.

A very wet and slippery day and the fish were obliging!

2 Rainbows caught, 1.41lb & 1.6lbs.

Another rainbow came off. Some fish rising and jumping in the two areas we fished.

Lovely river access difficult to see in places. No fish

Torrential rain from before breakfast didn't make conditions any easier the river was visibly rising through the morning. We caught a barbel of circa 8lb and 2 chub first thing and then packed up at lunchtime.

An absolutely fantastic days fishing in the meadow. The rain arrived at 6am and continued until past 3pm meaning the river was in beautiful condition for the evening. Fish came here and there throughout the day until about 6pm when they really got their noses down and we had 7 in a 90 minute spell. All fish fell to the usual pellets in an open end feeder with pellet on the hook. One eel slipped the hook on spam. All the fish fought hard and were well rested before release. The best two went just over 9lb.

The only downside of the day was seeing a lovely 8lb+ barbel float downstream belly up, sadly out of range of being helped. Whether it was natural or poor fish care further upstream I don't know but if you're not willing to spend plenty of time nursing your catch until fully recovered then barbel fishing isn't for you.
