Bright sunny day but still cool and the water low and cold. Not a single rising fish seen but managed a few grayling on a small purple tungsten glitzy nymph. Didn’t see anything hatching and not even any terrestrials around. Still great fun and a lovely beat

Although we didn't catch any fish, we had an enjoyable day fishing upstream and downstream of the Lyepole bridge, in outstandingly beautiful surroundings.
There was very little fly-hatch, apart from a few small olives and only the odd rise in the pool just above the bridge.
I did briefly hook a small trout on a small green/yellow nymph (name not known) and had a snatch on a hare's ear klinkhammer, in the the pool at the first bend above the bridge.

Beat:Old Clytha
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:1
Old Clytha is a short beat but works for me. Often only have a few hours to fish therefore a few more beats like this would be great, (What happened to Dan y Warren?). Lovely beat, nice day, although a bit cold. Water low and clear. Nothing for the first hour then a small hatch but not interested in my offering. Tried nymph and had a WBT at the top of the best, about 12inch, in good condition, returned. Enjoyed the day.
