Saw a few resident fish but apparently water too low for them to be tempted by me at least. Felt like I was in with a chance though despite low water

Great to be back on the Wye for the first time this season,river very low but managed a couple of nice Barbel 5-7 lbs,looking forward to returning next month

Low and very clear. One swim produced to ledgered meat. Best barbel 10lb 4oz.

Did not have one bite between two anglers gave up after 7 hours

A couple of Barbel lost to hook pulls during the afternoon left me a little frustrated, however lots of chub kept me entertained and 3 barbel in the early evening made the walk back up cardiac hill worth while

Would have been a great first day's fly fishing had I packed the flies ????. As it was a useful opportunity to practice casting with my daughter. A beautiful spot and I haven't lost any tackle for once just a few quid lighter.

My first visit to this attractive beat and surrounding habitat. An exceedingly shrunken stream, with well less than half its bed dry in most places, save in the few deep pools, but still running clear and without algal growth . A good scattering of fallen leaves though, giving an early autumn feel to the grey blustery day. Many fry evident and chasing the nymph, unlike their larger brethren who stayed well hidden. Only contacts were one smallish trout that took a spider pattern before wriggling off the barbless hook and one salmon par brought to hand. Will be back after the rain. Saddened to hear about the Llynfi pollution.
