Lovely location, sunny, warm day, abundant bug life but no fish rising or seen otherwise. Was checking potential trout spots and accidentally hooked a grayling.
Fished a klinkhammer and black bead hares ear nymph duo.

4 rainbow trout and 2 perch taken on gold head hares ear fly fishing is a bit limited as the reservoir is at full capacity with limited areas for a back cast at the moment.

River conditions low water, sunny day. Fish taking off the surface but caught small trout on wet fly using singled handed rod.
The fishing passport staff were very helpful in setting up the last minute days fishing at Abernant and the whole experience was great.

beautiful if cold day on Talybont. I had a nice brownie of about 3/4lb smack a size 12 ace of spades after about 45 minutes and as I waded a little deeper to net it, I suddenly realised that I had a slow leak in my waders right at the crotch !

Managed to fish on getting colder and colder for a couple of hours and had another beautiful brownie this time on a silver invicta, but gave up by mid-day due to the freezing water soaking my essentials.

NOTE: There was a group paddling about in a coracle and another group filming gymnastics and playing music !

All trout bar one in the 1 .75 to 2lb mark and all fought hard. Lost several other good sized fish too. Heavy grannom hatch from arrival (11am) to around 3pm with lots of trout rising in the steadier water. Grannom emerger patterns and flashback nymph worked best.

Conditions not at all conducive to dry fly fishing. Not a cloud in the sky, although thankfully never hot nor too windy. Still, it was very pleasantly surprising to see LDOs and March Browns hatch in such numbers from 12.30 - 2pm. A few fish came to the surface and some were caught but the best of the fishing was later in the afternoon as the hatch petered out, when we enjoyed some superb sport with hard fighting, good sized trout. Best fish again 18”, with 2@17”,2@16”1@15”2@14”and the rest 12-13”. Wonderful !
