Started off in the first field but not a bite so we moved below the woods and fished two swims, one in the middle of the field and one towards the woods. We both had 14 barbel each with the biggest going 9.9. All caught on single 8mm pellet to a 16 hook, only one fish lost. River began to rise after previous days rain but we caught pretty consistently throughout the day.

A tricky day with the river running low, clear and cold. And the sun out for much of the day. A lovely beat though and the fish did oblige later in the afternoon.

No fish today, despite seemingly better conditions than yesterday (with an extra 4" of water and zero leaves). Just shows that "forget the forecast" is very true... I shall be back next year :)

Stayed at the Green Man - great place. Had a fun day, only two fish but worth the wait.

Get all the excuses out of the way first, river was slow, quite clear and it was sunny.

Had a decent chub (4lb+) first thing plus lost a barbel. Several hours after a move I finally caught a barbel mid afternoon followed by 3 chub. Nothing in the last couple of hours.

Still love this beat, but it didn't fish well for me today. Certainly be back again next autumn.

Nice day, mix of sunshine and cloud with a slight to moderate breeze, but quite cold. 2 nice rainbows which were taken and 2 small brown trouts which were returned. The biggest rainbow was taken on a spinner the rest on floated worm. Nothing taken on fly though one was missed.
