A final afternoon session of the season. River was 1ft 8" and looked magnificent. Got to the river around 1.30pm, sunray was still on rod from last outing, so gave it a go, and 4th cast in the tail of the rapids it was engulfed by a 9lb fairly clean hen fish. One other salmony pull in the Oaks that didn't stick. Bumped into an old friend who was also fishing, one of the joys of passport waters.

Lovely day - river in good condition but very little action from the fish. One angler no bites all day. one angler 3 bites and one chub around 3-3.5 lb on maggot.

A most enjoyable final day of salmon fishing. Good weather, a fishy feeling river and the good company of a fellow angler and his wife. Sadly no salmon though I had a good fish on for a few seconds in the tail of the bathing pool but I suspect it was a large trout. Ty Newydd is a fabulous place to be whether catching or not. Looking forward to a better 2021 season.

A tough day on the river today, it was at a good level but very clear, 1x rig bag lost after rolling in the river!

Quite a tough day on the river today, it was at a good level but the clear water didn’t help, but 6 barbel of average stamp and 3 chub about 5lb made for a good days fishing, most taken on meat.

First blank on this beat , which was surprising considering the ideal conditions. Saw one salmon move towards the evening. Plenty of bird life to watch going about their business including 3 white (greater?) egrets, red kites & several flocks of starlings heading to roost at 100 mph. Very peaceful with no canoes at all & no background noise from the local wood chipper. Might have to try a change of tactics next outing.
