4 landed, 2 lost. River high, fishing close in. A bit nerving the condition of the track leading down to the fishery, heavy rain would probably had seen us stuck down there!

Tough day on a swollen river. Forced to fish the back eddy on the bend at the bottom of the beat where apart from the odd barbel and chub lots of eels had taken up residence.
Bait was halibut pellets and flavoured meat.

River was up 2.5m at the start of the day. Two barbel in the morning (both on boilies) 5lb 7oz and 6lb 2oz. Both from peg in woods. Moved to first peg after the car park in the afternoon and had two more barbel (both on meat), 6lb and less that 8oz. Good to see very small fish in the river.

Back on the Creel for the final session of our 5 days on the Wye. Its proved to be a the best day yet with 49 barbel landed. The best fish weighing 11lb 9oz. We also had the pleasure of meeting the fishery owner.

Unfortunately I was not able to fish on the booked day. The confirmation email with details was filtered into a random email folder which I didn't find until the following day and so assumed that the space wasn't available - Thanks Google!

Strange day in almost ideal conditions. 3 Barbel from one swim within the first hour (started at 11) then nothing at all for the rest of the day, despite moving swims and trying different baits and methods.

Highlight of the day was my uncle catching his very first Barbel within minutes of his very first cast on any river - it was a monster at 10lb 11! Quite incredible.

Great beat with good access and lots of available pegs

Water very coloured and level really high and needed 5oz feeders to hold bottom. I love the wild fishing side of the beat but the paths are very overgrown and between swims and path is dangerous if your loaded up. Still a good day with only 2 barbel at 5 and 8lb 2oz.
