HS & DB one 4lb chub, river had risen overnight and was coloured, the riverbed was full of weed which was wooly a bit like candy floss! very few places to fish needs work done to create easier access to swims as the bank is very high

Fishing was very difficult, though enjoyable, much of the bank has been cut away by flooding earlier in the year, and there are many logs and fallen trees. I caught a small (two ounce) brown trout on a GRHE with a gold bead in a pool hundred and fifty yards north of the bridge at Chanstone Court. The weather was overcast and 'heavy', with intermittent rain. I also saw a small number of hatching mayflies, a dipper, and two kingfishers.

Tough day, raining, pegs slippery and tons of weed dragged out after every cast. Managed a couple of barbel so very happy although I put my waders on and forgot that my boots were not under the cover of the brolly. Boots full of water! Roll on tomorrow.

Another wonderful day on this well kept stretch, credit to Glynn who sadly didn’t call down this time, I enjoy my chats with him! The local EA guys paid us a visit and we had a chat about the poaching problem... it’s so infuriating.

On my own for the last two days so fancied a bit of a roving day as the river was coming up again. Started at the top croy and ended up at the bottom meadow and caught barbel in every swim.
Super day with 10 barbel to show for it

River had risen overnight and was a few feet up. Walked all of the way to the woods and did have a go there, but with very limited access, fishing was difficult. Managed one chub and then decided to move. Eventually found a peg with smooth flow and had 1 barbel in the morning. I returned at 5:30pm and had another 8 barbel before they went off the feed at around 8:30.
Lots of small taps that were difficult to hit, but when I did, they turned out to be barbel! Not a single typical rod bending barbel bite all day. First fish on luncheon meat, the rest on pellets.
