Bright sunshine all day combined with a very low and clear river wasn’t a great recipe for a good days sport. Fortunately, when the sun went down behind the trees I managed a couple of bites on the feeder that resulted in two barbel - 9lb 4oz and 6lb oz.

First time on the Wye, only fished the lower section , river looked great but quiet no activity on the surface but thought I would give it a go anyway. Tried klinkhammer for a couple of hours to no avail. As the day warmed a hatch of a few what looked like pale watery so delved into the fly box to match the hatch , action at last . 3 takes straight off missed the first 2 connected the 3rd and lost it just as quick. Will be back . Nice beat think a bit more water on would help and less sun

My first time here and a really beautiful remote location. A real gale was blowing most of the day making casting extremely difficult. All fish caught in the last 40 mins when the wind dropped. Lovely looking trout with distinctive markings and dark fins.

This is probably upland llyn fishing for wild trout at its best.

The tough conditions continued today. We had to wait until the last hour for bites, when RW caught a 6lb barbel and 4lb chub in the first swim.
