Just a couple of hours on the river this morning but had some success with a PTN. No rising fish seen. Very good feeling to be out in the wild again.

A lovely stretch of River and very welcome after such a long period of “Lockdown”. The river was very low and I didn’t see a rise all day. Probably later in the evening they will begin to feed on the surface. Also tried a few small nymphs in the deeper holes to no avail. I saw a brown hard on the bottom in one of the holes but wasn’t tempted by my offerings.
I will return after some rain as it has great potential but a very enjoyable day in pleasant surroundings.

Fished 5-7pm from approximately two thirds of the way down the beat. River very low and the impact of winter floods notable as previously un-wadable holes now filled in and several fallen trees blocking wading progress upstream. No fish rising at all. Nothing, even with clouds of hatches. No true mayfly yet. Managed 2 stunning wbt close to the top of beat to a nymph under a Klinkhammer. Although the above might seem a bit negative....I had the best 2 hours fishing that I can remember! Just so good to be out, wildlife, cool water and waders not leaking! Fantastic!

Great to be out again, bit rusty, but very enjoyable. River very low and clear, looks like quite a it of flood damage to banks and trees, a lot have been removed. As to the fish l am afraid they did not show. Just a couple of decent rises covered under the willows, but not interested in my offerings. Mainly clink and dink, missed one good take later in day when mayflies appeared in small numbers. Be back when we have a bit more water in river. A great beat thanks wyes dusk.
