Tough conditions with a rising water level and constant rain. One Monstrous bite which resulted in a barbel caught at 7lb 10oz!

1 Barbel

River was a raging torrent at over 4 meters on the gauges - washed off

Had a good days fishing up until about 2 o’clock when the river was rising so quick the swim I was fishing became Unsafe to carry on, soaked muddy but happy with the fish I caught in not ideal conditions I went home a happy man, it got to the point I couldn’t hold in the flow and there was all sorts of debris coming down

3 Barbel, 7 Chub

Wet and windy but the river was a good level and fish feeding. Feeder and pellets.

3 Barbel, 10 Chub

A nice beat but water temperature still quite high hence so many out of seasons browns caught

11 Trout, 2 Grayling

Fished at the bottom end of the fishery. Water level up with good colour and hardly any debris coming down. Very windy day and raining most of the day. All fish caught on meat, biggest Barbel 6 pounds and Chub 4 pounds.

I was lucky with today; the water had fallen to the point it was clear fish-able and the rain forecast was not arriving until later. It was a very pleasant autumnal day and the main reason for going was the hope of seeing some salmon. I did not. In fact I didn't see a single fish of any kind. There was no movement, no splashes, no takes, no pulls.. no anything.

Time to sign off for 2019 I think....
