Fished alone as my friend had a work commitment and think he was best off. Despite the day long deluge the river was low clear and still very weedy.
Landed 2 nice looking barbel and lost one and that was it for the day
Will be back as lovely beat.

Started fishing at 1030 it rained steadily all day, but this didn't ruin our day as the fishing was fantastic. We fished the top end near the bend, the long straight was quite slippy but at one point it was a chub a cast, eventually I moved as the rain had made it very dodgy underfoot even though the fish were still feeding. The barbel only really started feeding late afternoon, all pegs fished produced fish, we fished the croys on the first stretch on the way back to the car park as it had briefly stopped raining and bagged a few. The only downside is people using microbarbed hooks as a barbel had 1 in its mouth which I took out. The beat is well maintained and a credit to yourselves. Thanks again.
