Area:Lugg & Arrow

Beat:Lyepole

Fishing:Trout (River)

No. of Anglers:1

Started at the very bottom of the beat, much of which is only inches deep, worked my way up until I came to a bend which was too deep to wade, got out, and couldn't get back in anywhere missing a good 200yd stretch.
Faired better above the bridge and managed 1 grayling in one of the pools. No rises seen all day despite a sporadic hatch of yellow mays.
Not sure this beat justifies its price tag and should be added in my opinion to the Wild Stream portfolio

Managed a short (2 hr) morning session and only fished a short section from the bridge. Water clarity is superb and a nice flow in the miniature pools. Brought 6 to hand....all chunky and beautifully marked. One in the klink and rest on a goldhead nymph. Bumped many others off!

My first trip on the wild stream season ticket, having moved to the area just before covid 19 and the lockdown started. Luckily (for me) I live close to the Edw so was able to spend the afternoon there whilst complying with the Welsh covid "5 mile" remit - though in truth today was as much "walk the water" as it was fishing, not having fished it before. A little colour in the water - not surprising following recent rain, but managed a couple of rises on a small tups, though both shed the hook.
