A cool and breezy day with little surface activity. We fished mainly 'upside down' nymphs sometimes in a 'klink and dink' set up. Most fish were caught in the streamy water but the larger fish came from the deep pools. The largest fish caught was a Grayling at a little over the pound. All fish were in fine fettle. A beautiful beat that we thoroughly enjoyed fishing.

Again fishing for salmon, met a season ticket holder who had a 12 pounder.. All we could catch were more shad.I hope this means their numbers are increasing. All the hard work of the foundation beginning to pay off .
Let's hope salmon numbers show a similar increase.

River very coloured and rising, seemed a bit out of sorts. A bit disappointing, but nice beat with very good access.

Tough day despite the extra water and overcast conditions- first cast a Barbel then nothing for hours until two chub came along - anglers on the opposite bank struggling too.
Access to the gates at the top of the hill was via ankle deep cow dung so wear wellies !
