River high very coloured and pushing through - managed to find a swim with the barbel.
A very successful and enjoyable day.

River high coloured and pushing through. Struggled to find the fish unlike my colleague (see previous) but between us picked up a few barbel with some Chub.
Difficult conditions but enjoyable.

The last day of the week on How Caple early part was slow due to hot weather and low summer level , after heavy rain friday night the river rose three feet and coloured only two or three swims left to fish but results were good best fish of the week 8lb 2oz followed by two mid sevens rest average wye fish 5-6lb range ,if you vist the wye when it has rained be sure to bring a dog spike and long rope as it makes getting in and out of slippery muddy banks much safer ,looking forward to my next wye adventure (.sorry about late posting my second week was spent travelling with no wi-fi ).

No luck today. River was high and full of water. Saw one fish rise all day. Nice location.

Plenty of colour but not too much water in the river. Nothing to bead head nymphs or dries but then saw a couple of fish move to emergers so fished a stiff hackle spider. Short Tenkara rod used 7 Trout landed and several more self released.

On arrival mid morning the brook had a tinge of colour to it and a bit of water running through which is just how I like this beat to be. I fished the duo all morning and had fish from nearly every pool I came to, including a surprise roach!

By mid afternoon a few lightning strikes in the forest alarming close by (one spooked a load of deer which came running on through) meant that I called it a day and walked back to the car. It was a good call as ten minutes later the brook resembled a flash flood. A real sight to behold but a humbling one at that.
