Lots of interesting swims to fish. A good section of the bank was unfishable because of anglers on the far bank that seem to have been there all night. Found a lot of fish at the far end of the stretch. The problem was that every man and his dog wanted to be in that area had children and dogs wanting to swim straight through my swim. And wasn't just a few times it was all day right up untill last knockings. Lovely stretch too busy not worth £45 a day.

Well did initially have plans for Mrs A to come along , but she wanted t get some jobs done in the garden , so I ambled down to Bucknell , arriving about nineish at the parking spot , not actually done this section of the Teme before , so was quite excited to be honest . . . .

Split cane day , rigged up my old seven foot four weight , made for me by Dig Diggory from up Oswestry many years ago , and initially opted for a tiny Para Greenwells , see how things went . . .

Walked down to the river and as I imagined , having had lunch at the Lion in Leintwardine only a few days earlier and seeing the Teme there , was the same situation , pretty low !!!! Never mind , let's give it a bash , didn't want to waste my well earned twenty quid for the ticket !!!!!!

No real interest in the dries initially , so changed to a tiny GRHE , imidiate success on one of the deep, pools , and a lovely twelve inch Teme brownie to the net , great start . . .

Next pool , same again , hit the nymph hard and a brownie of maybe fourteen inches perhaps gorgeous colouration , and slipped back in . Some of these pools are a saving grace for the trout , as they are very very deep , even. With most of the riffles , only inches deep now . . .

Some activity from the martins as they were nailing insect s just above the water at elevenish , and I did see two rises from the resident trout , so I tied back on my Para Greenwell s, and on the bend before the straight of cricket bat willows , had a lovely ten inch fish on the dry , smashing take too . I'm guessing I only did half the beat , but a nice initial recce , and even nicer to bring three crackers too the net , spot on . Will do the full beat next time , seems a cracker , and I'm sure with more water it's awesome , bet the mayflies here were sublime fishing days , as I did see six or seven this morning . . . . Called it a day at twelve , bimbled back to the truck , and headed back to the ponderosa , a fun morning , and nice to tangle with the leopards of the Teme . . . . . Excellent !!!!!!!

A difficult first day of six on the river, algae bloom has made the river look like malt vinegar. First time on this beat, plenty of canoes but no hassle even when the armada arrived. All fish caught on pellet.

very slow day, I didn't see a barbel or chub roll all day. I moved 4 times, but only caught a few eels! had to leave at 7pm to head home, so missed the usual evening activity if there was any :/
