Conditions were bright and sunny but river seemed in good condition. We fished feeder and pellets/ luncheon meat into the flow. We both lost a fish a piece early to snags but managed a 7lb barbel early afternoon. Come alive as the light faded with three more barbel to 7lb 3oz and a 4lb chub. Lovely stretch of the Wye, shame about the down stream access( unreachable without a canoe) but no complaints here.

Great days fishing, a bit bright throughout the mid part of the day and the fishing slowed right down, started to pick up again as the evening drew in. Trout were making small flies of the surface, missed a few takes and three fish didn’t make the net.
Greyling took a plain pheasant tail nymph right on the end of a drift.

Two trout (one a reasonable size) and four grayling, all on klinkhammers. A bright, sunny day, all fish caught in the shade. Wading/access generally easy. Was also lucky to see a circling kite.

It was my first day back fishing after a number of years off , was great to get back into it , fishing fly only on the Glantowy stretch of the Towy, river was at a nice fishing height with a slight tint to it, ideal but unfortunately very bright and warm day , two small trout for my efforts both returned. Great to be out on the river again, thanks to the simple booking facility offered by the fishing Passport, looking forward to my next trip .
