Better conditions for the angler today but the water was fairly coloured. The best grayling went just over 1lb 8oz but once again trout were present in every swim and were unavoidable. Fished the lower end of the stretch from Grandslam down, every swim tried produced.

Miserable conditions with freezing rain and 40 mph gusts fairly constant. Far from ideal for trotting and most wouldn't of got out the car but we were rewarded with fairly constant sport. Brownies beat the grayling to the bait in virtually every swim we tried and at times it was a fish a chuck. Trout caught was an estimate, likely more.

A lovely day for a walk with a rod. The grayling were no doubt shoaled up in the bottoms of pools. I didn't disturb them.

6 x grayling 6-17 inches, 1 x out of season trout 16 inches, trotting. Hard work to find fish this morning in what was very raw weather - just above freezing and with a bitterly cold wind. The river was clearing, but still rather high. However, there was the odd individual grayling to be found here and there and a couple of them were good ones. The post-spawning trout attacked double maggot while it was being wound back upstream.

River flooded out. Threw a line in for an hour or so just because I'd made the drive but no such luck.

River very high and the colour of chocolate. Unsurprisingly, only catch of the day was a floating log of around 3 pounds. : )
Right hand bank has very difficult access due to electric fencing running the length of the beat as well as very healthy set of brambles. Left hand bank much clearer and with lower water level imagine fishing the beat from in the river and this bank would be good.
