A beautiful afternoon to be out here - almost summer. 10 trout to 15", all to PTN aside from the fish pictured which took a DHE during a very short lived spell of fish taking emergers. Mayfly around but not many obviously on the water and nothing taking duns in the afternoon. It's not the easiest fishing but there are fish in there - I probably lost another half dozen or so, including one pool near the bottom where I had at least 4 takes from different fish in quick succession but only managed to land one. I stayed at the Bell and at 9.30pm there was a cracking rise going on, although I wasn't getting a rod back out after dinner!

10 Trout, 1 Grayling

Brian Woolley had a nice 9.5 lb silver hen fish ???? on a black SHFC from a croy near the hut. It gave a good fight and recovered well and swam off strong. Fish was caught about 6.15 pm.

1 Salmon

The river is quite low and very clear but still fishable. The fish are quite sparse this year. Areas where I would have seen fish in previous years are now barron. Plenty of fly hatches though and lots of fry in the margins . I saw 7 fish and got takes off 6, landed 2. Not my best ratio! Lol

2 Trout

Another nice day on the Edw. Very good fishing especially towards the top half of the beat. Water still low and clear.
Trout up to 11" on the nymph in the faster water.

10 Trout

All fish returned, and were caught using a modified pheasant tail nymph.

A few mayfly out, and 3 good sized trout to largish Grey Wulff

3 Trout

No fish taken. I trout of 8 oz and one of 3lb. Taken on pheasant tail nymph.

Two brown trout caught, one 14" and the other 9", both on a PTN. Great day and a beautiful beat.

Spent the afternoon enjoying the brook for the first time and although saw quite a few small fish no activity. Tried all the usuals but no interest. Great few hours and will return. Warm but very windy, and bright..!
