River perfect, falling and clearing after much needed rain. I took my ten year old nephew barbel fishing for the first time: 4 barbel none of them under 8lb, the largest pushing double figures, 6 chub up to 4lb. Method open end feeder with banded pellet for the barbel, pek for the brassies. All fish top notch, great day cheers

Blank. Water already back down to 11-12 inches, although there is more colour than I would like. One handshake in the Rocks, fish seen to move in neck of Rectory, otherwise river very quiet.

Last time I fished here it was incredible , the best day on the Wye I've ever had , still not topped it for numbers of fish , Not the case this time , I had nothing all day , the Wye really is not fishing great at the moment , this dry month we've had hasn't helped , I know it'll improve .
There is still some good fishing to be had on the Wye , just read the feedback and see where's good , if your lucky enough to find a booking !

5 Barbel to 8lb 2oz and 4 Chub to 3lb.
Feeder and Fluro hooklinks to hair rig on size 8 or 10
River had risen after 2 days of rainfall and during the middle of the river we needed 3oz feeders. Normally this time of year 1oz would be fine.
Baits used were a variety of hookbaits Pallatrax Squabs and Barbel Blitz plus some dynamite bates fruity boilies as well. Used a feeder with ground bait, hemp and loose feed pellet.
Beautiful stretch of river with reasonable access either from the Orchard or further down the road by the gate.
Would fish here again

River in perfect condition after rain at the weekend. Water noticeably cooler than a couple of weeks ago, and the chub in particular were far less active. A slow day in the woods section livened up considerably in the top field in late afternoon, with several very good barbel caught in quick succession.

Many small brown trout caught. All released alive. Lovely to have a bit of rain. Took to spinners and feeding on the surface for the fly.
