Lovely, warm day. Several paddlers / swimmers but didn't inconvenience. As leaving, from the bridge, saw 2x canoes....
Water temp 50F exactly. Some grannoms and small olives (earlier). May have arrived slightly late at c. 11am.
Fish took a March Brown. Returned.

early on in the day i saw a very large shoal of what i assume were char rising to take small midges making they're way around the lake, they only came into casting range for a brief moment but didn't take my flies and when the wind came back they were gone. i tried the same spot as where i had the char yesterday for a short while before deciding to give Melyn LLyn a go.

after fishing Dulyn in the morning i decided to give Melyn llyn a go i arrived to a dead calm water and beaming sunshine with trout taking flies at the surface. within an hour and 10 minutes i had landed 7 trout and lost about 5 all on a cdc bibio hopper dry fly. Most of them weren't that big but one of them was about a pound and the most beautiful yellow colour with vibrant red spots. the wind then got stronger and they stopped taking dries. i had 3 more before the end of the day on a woolly bugger stripped fast and had a very nice fish take the fly but not stay hooked. overall a fantastic days fishing and well worth the hike
