Cloudy overcast day, intermittent drizzle. River had a slight colouring but generally clear. Fish rising to a generous hatch of March Browns? Caught one, very small - but excellent colour and condition, brown trout on a Pearl Diawl Bach.
Probably should have caught more - need to tighten up on my methodology. A most enjoyable day in great company on a fantastic stretch of the River Monnow.

Loads of May Flies around but low water levels and only few fish rising.

Bright sunshine. Very clear water. Stiff breeze in my face. Those are my excuses and I'm sticking with them.

Stream unfishable , running fast due to torrential rain over previous days and water very muddy.Did not attempt to fish.

Very overgrown and high banks and lots of nice shiny barbed wire if no access through gates, able to reach water in a few places but nothing caught, a few fish seen but very skittish, lovely day anyway, enjoyed my wander around

Water low and bright but with spells of rain. Filled with optimism went to beat 2 and caught a 28" salmon at 11 am on a small 1/2" conehead tube . Taken from the head of the pool below pump house pool. The fish had not been in the river long, it was bright and strong. Thank you .

Thought I'd give this Llyn another crack after such a good time on previous visit. A fair breeze blowing with sunshine and showers and fish hard to find this time. Did manage 4 lovely wbt to hand and a few other bumps. Black pennell (14) was the favoured offering fished slow fig. 8. Travelled up with a fishing pal so came by 4x4 instead of my motorbike and could really appreciate how rough the access track is now!! Not as many caught and got rained on as well but STILL a huge smile on my face all the way back to Upton on Severn Mr Burch. A truely magical place....
