Three WBT were very small but I caught them fair and square! This beat reminds me of The Tarrell. Along with free stone wading there are gin clear pools over bed rock which made for very tricky approaches to pools. I wasn't good enough today.
Day was notable for a prolonged game of cat and mouse with a herd of frisky cows blocking my way off the beat. Parking a bit tricky.

River low. Only fished two hours due to holiday commitments. First time I have fly fished for 20 years - I am more at home with bream & roach on Norfolk Broads. Nevertheless, had a nice chub of around 4lb on a weighted black & green nymph and a grayling of 12oz on a fly which I can only describe as pink & white (sorry I do not know the name). I wish we had a river like this in my native Suffolk.

Hard days fishing, bites came at first and last light. Slow during the day as sun was out all day, luckily we had airb&b 500yard from this stretch to go and freshen up. Last two swim were the most productive.

Beat:Dinas
Fishing:Trout (River)

Sadly the Usk was on it's bones, gin clear, bright warm day, no sign of any surface flies. We gave it our best shot and were rewarded with 3 wbt, all 5-7 inches. Joined by two paddle borders and we politely explained why they shouldn't be on the water. They were decent enough to pack up and carry their boards back to their car.
