Good spring day on this famous beat which offers a variety of water and the chance of a springer. No salmon seen but a beautiful 2lb + Brownie rounded off an enjoyable day.

1 Trout, 1 Pike

A quick hour between 12-1pm nothing hatching so no rise, fished the French leader with a couple of small drab jigs due to the clear water conditions. Landed 6 small WTB to 12in.

Water temp still on the cold side, preventing any kind of insect life from making a move.
No fish seen moving, managed to catch one small brown each more by luck than judgment.
Size 14 gold head ptn on the point.

River at good height and very clear, no fish but very much enjoyed.

The river was looking in nice condition, but a biting east wind meant there was very little activity. A few small upwings came off early afternoon and that was that. Bumped one fish on a spider. An interesting beat.
