Appalling weather conditions and a very slippery bank limited the fishable swims. Packed up early afternoon.

Did not fish.

Good start to day hooked a salmon within 45 mins, departed company after a short time, rest of day nothing despite fishing hard in adverse conditions, thanks to ghillie Mick Sutton for your help and advice

Lovely beat, still quite cold, maybe too cold for the whiskers

All I can say is what a day! Never expected the fishing to be this good for the time of year. 1st time at the beat and certainly won’t be the last. Barbel to 11.3lb and the chub to 3.5lb, all fell to pellet.

Cold and overcast, river low and clear, banks slippery under foot but good vehicle access to the fishery. Ledgered flavoured meat minimal free offerings. Long wait for a single bite but hey that's fishing!
