Strong gusting downstream wind coupled with a skinny river showing its bones meant for a tough old day. I was longing to catch on the dry, but I just couldn’t help but scatter the fish as I tried to cast to the rise, only for the wind to dump it short.
So after five hours of persevering I switched to Klink and Dink and broke my duck with two wbt on a ghgrhe, thank god for the blank buster.

Fished for 2 1/2 hours without a touch. Tried various methods without success. No complaints from me though! Scenery is spectacular. Fish just didn’t want to play.

river now quite low at 8'' on the Ross gauge, lot of the pools now effected by heavy weed growth and river clarity effected by algae with visibility roughly about 24" . although this seams a lot of problems we saw several salmon throughout the day both up and down stream of the car park with one hooked briefly. We all thought that if it was not for the algae bloom we would have caught today. 3 rods.

Fished for an hour in the morning and a similar time in late evening only on the part of the beat adjacent to the caravan park. Did not observe a lot of fish activity although managed to hook and lose 3 smallish trout on small dry. A cold upstream wind was probably not helpful. Nevertheless it is a nice stretch and I look forward to fishing it again.
