Again, what a privilege to be able to fish such a piece of water. Thank you

I really thought that some of the shallow runs looked idea for dry fly but alas there was a cold wind from the East and nothing much hatching. I took a few small brown trout on dry fly but in the end switched to Euro-nymphing with immediately improved results. A lot of small brown trout, the biggest no more than 12" and a good number of moderate grayling, the best probably about a pound. I worked really hard for those fish and it was most rewarding to get the success I did on a pretty dull day. Majority of fish on a black and orange perdigon nymph,# 18, or a silver bead perdigon # 14, a few fish on olive dry fly. Very few fish came from the "Flats" and most were in the deeper and faster runs..

A hard day fishing, river very low but not very clear which helped a little. Very enjoyable however.

Arrived early, 1st time at this venue, could do with some signs in the farm to show directions to river.
The river was running quite low and clear, it was cloudy when i arrived, but cleared up with long spells of hot sunshine.
Had a 3lb 20z Chub 1st cast on pellet feeder, and another 2 in quick succession .
When the weather brightened up all fish indications stopped and had to wait til later for more action, had a small Barbel on the same method and a Chub of 5lb 5oz.
The really annoying thing was the water pump, really noisy which ruined things really.

A short session between travelling down and leaving early to check into our hotel and watch the England game. River very low and in need of rain to freshen it up. One rod managed to find some barbel while the other only found chub. Not many swims unless your wading, both of us ended up fishing midway to bottom on left bank. Would have been confident of catching more if we had stayed later in the bright conditions but at least England won.

River was very low and clear . Chub tempted at each end of the beat .
Very steep banks that would be impossible to get down if they was wet but efforts have been made to make them as accessible as possible .
A lovely days fishing

Well maintained beat with some easy parking and access. Struggled in the algae-ridden water but managed to winkle out some barbel and a chub, all 2 to 4 pounds, on pellets from the bottom pool. Probably should've moved around a bit but couldn't be bothered and left in time for the footie so didn't find out if the evening would have improved the catch rate. Tough day but will be back!
