Lovely days fishing in a lovely location. Weather was a bit bright and the water very clear but it was just a joy to be out in such wonderful countryside. So much insect life it was surprising more fish weren't rising. We managed to take a couple on dry flies but by far the most takes were on small nymphs. Missed/lost far more than we caught and lost several flies as the fish shook the hook and the line 'pinged' up into the nearest tree. A bit more water in the stream might have offered more fishing locations but still some very attractive pools. The salmon - a parr.

The weather was beautiful, clear skies and hot. The scenery was as ever stunning. Always lots of interesting wildlife and vegetation to study. Flies were hatching everywhere, but the fish were sulking.
One concern I have is the number of fry (thousands) trapped in pools which will dry out if rain is not forthcoming. It would be worth speciating the fry trapped, and to make efforts to return them to the main flow. Perhaps the WFU could pay a stipend to a zoologist to take on this task. You would essentially be re-stocking stretches with wild fish.

Very bright sunny conditions. Not much fly life showing and hence only a few fish rising. Did manage to get a take from a nice trout but lost it. Using nymphs.
