A lot of blanket weed made it hard work. Corn was the best bait.

horrendous weed and silk weed masking the bait ,we packed up after 2 hours as it was impossible to fish

Nice couple of hours nothing big but good fun on a #2 rod.

Really Enjoyed today caught 5 trout between the 2 of us, only light rain and had 7 bites, lost 2 which were on, overall good days fishing!

Second day on the Edw. Stayed at the Hundred House Pub last night. Nice pint of Butty, a simple steak, a comfy bed and busy with holiday makers come in from the rain. The continued rain during the day on Sunday raised and coloured the river by afternoon. Another good day of sport, and today I got some bigger fish on with at least 5 at 12" and fat.
The Hergest beat seems to have had some clearing done in recent months (WUF?) and a lot of bank side growth has been pushed back. This beat is a favourite of mine and it felt quite different with some pools changing character quite a lot (for the better generally I guess).

20 Trout

Tough going today, although managed to find a few grayling lying in a deep run late in the afternoon.
4 trout circa 8 inches. 6 grayling two of which were around 18 inches.

Rained most of the day but managed to have a great afternoon.

9 Chub

A predictably tough day on this beat. That said we managed to get 2 barbel and a nice chub out. (I promised I would not mention about my colleague falling in but it was an amusing addition to the day so I cannot really keep that promise, sorry! Thankfully no fish or fishermen were injured in the process!)

First time I'v seen duckweed in the margins but despite the low water level it was a pleasant day with the fish coming steadily throughout. Pellet meat and bread all took fish. The rain started at 4pm. I stuck it out for another 2 hours and headed home. The other was a decent eel of about 2lb.
