The water was clearer than last week and a little lower. Lots of tiny fish splashing in the margins. I started with a size 20 midge that was promptly taken by a 9" trout. Two more around 7" came to the midge and a cdc olive, a ptn tempted one the length of my middle finger.
I removed about 15m of thick mono that wrapped round my legs just down from the sewage treatment plant that wasn't here last week. Himalayan balsam also starting to show and I removed a few seedlings from one small stretch of gravel.

The river was low but from noon onwards a few fish started rising to Olives and the odd March Brown. All fish were caught and others lost on various Cdc dries and none were bigger than 14". Some of the bigger fish did show thier noses briefly but unfortunately this time I could not fool them. A magical place to spend the day.

Nice river with very easy access. To wade through the water is also easier but there are a few fallen trees in the middle of the river. The water was clear and a good flow. I was nymphing with Spanish bullet nymphs and some french micro nymphs. No activity on the surface but a lot of fish at the fast water and at the end of the pockets. I took 8 brownies between 6 and 8 inches, Besides a few smaller ones. All returned safely.

Beat:Llangoed & Lower Llanstephan

Fishing:Salmon

Water low and gin clear 1' on guage. Spinning in Llangoed pool, fly the rest. One large splash at head of Llangoed could have been a salmon. No fish seen. Very bright and hot day. Salmon fishing waste of time really but long way to travel from Kent. Enjoyed the day very much and impressed with the fishery.

First visit to this beat. Hard work but enjoyable. Treacherous wading and access difficult at times. Two trout - one well above a pound and a pb accidental grayling over 2lbs but no salmon seen all day long.

A challenging day on a very nice stretch. 3 ten inch trout on dry fly. Levels were slightly high making this a tricky wading stretch.

Second visit to this lovely stretch and were encouraged to see fish feeding on the surface from late morning and then frustrated not to contact any despite multiple nerve jangling swirls at dry flies.

Saw three mink during the course of the day including a couple that ran along the field edge so close to me I could have nearly got them with my wading stick! On the subject of pests also had a double canoe come through the stretch during the day!
