The river had dropped back several inches since our visit 2 days before but the catch was similar with our group catching 10 Barbel and 2 Chub, this time the tactics were a mixture of feeder and float.

Thanks to Terry the bailiff who was very helpful.

The river was low and clear and, despite being overcast it was a hot and humid. Fished the downstream (field) stretch morning and afternoon (4 chub; 3 Barbel). We then fished the orchard stretch first thing in the evening (1 chub), before returning to the lower stretch for the last hour of fishing (2 barbel). Largest fish: chub 4.5 lb; barbel 9lb.

Having missed the majority of this seasons fishing, due to the unforeseen, it was good to be out on the river again. Started at 8.30 and picked up the two Grayling fairly quickly fishing the fast water at the head of pools. 12” and 10” both to # 16 para Adams. The trout were all small the biggest 8” and still with the Adams. The Irfon was 27” on the Cilmery gauge and the fish sluggish and very cautious.
Tough going and finished at 2pm.

River conditions - water level very low, little bit coloured.
Method used- ledgered, bait used - 2 x 8mm halibut pellet

I am not sure whether this is is relevant.
I have seen male American mink with little roach or chub in it's mouth running along the river bank.
