A pleasant afternoon with sporadic trickles of LDOs meaning at last I could discard the nymphs. Rewarded with a decent size fish on an Adams. This is a lovely remote beat but with only 6 or 7 pools between fast moving shallow water the opportunities are limited, the bottom half is better than the top.

After seeing the previous report and being desperate to catch anything I decided to take the day off and go to Kington.
The day was mostly overcast with the occasional breeze. All of the fish came on nymphs, either GRHE or PTN's, with fast water being the most productive. The size of the fish varied from 4 - 10 inches.
The beat itself is varied with plenty of riffles and pools to have a go at, casting can be challenging due to the amount of trees.
Overall a good day out, and so nice to finally catch a fish after two blanks this year!

Overcast and muggy , water lever quite high which makes it difficult to get at the river on this beat . However found some promising areas an landed my first fish of the season, very handsome brownie on aPTN below a Klink.
Caught a tiddler a short while later then a 8oz Grayling also on the PTN. No hatch and no surface activity

I returned the 10" trout i caught on a size 16 PTN i tied it, with a little piece of lead wire to sink it. i had another take i missed, both in the late afternoon. The river was fast and slippery wading (wading pole needed)with over hanging trees ( roll casting-good fun!) I found trout, over shingle/pebble river bed (in the middle of the river) and not over big rock, which i suppose makes sense- long gutter to black hole swims . I found the fishing hard, but its beautiful river and enjoyed my day.
