DC & GC enjoyed a nice but windy day on this nice beat, The water was clear and still dropping but the downstream wind put paid to any fly life, so no fish rising. All fish taken on nymphs, had hoped for more grayling but the oos wbt meant at least we caught throughout the day.
Many thanks to the Colonel and W&U for access to this new beat.

Brilliant day. Good weather and perfect water conditions. Fished pellet and feeder all day and caught fish from 4 swims, smallest 1/2lb, largest 9lb. No issues. Access instructions for first time visitor needs a bit more detail given the various gates and electric fence barriers you have to navigate to reach the river. Thanks WUF.

WUF Note: Due to the nature of grazing livestock, electric fences will often move and so are difficult to mark on the maps. We always endeavour to keep the maps as accurate as possible so any feedback is appreciated.

Fished upstream one swim only due to a mobility problem. However this enabled tightly spreading loosebait all day, groundbait, hemp and pellet. This resulted in three barbel, 2 at 7 lbs on meat, and another at 10 lbs 2oz on a 14 mm pellet (a pb). Weather and river conditions were excellent for fishing (overcast), and a "rover" could have had a field day. Lovely venue and I did not do it justice., and thank you to the lady motorist who stopped and pointed me to the correct orchard (the 2nd on the right at the bottom of the hill !

Great day on a lovely stretch. In spite of long walk it was definitely worth it. Fish came consistently throughout the day, most between 5 and 7.5lb.

Outstanding day with 19 barbel between 4lb and 9lb caught on pellet or meat. All fish caught from lower half of the stretch, close in, throughout the day. Generally overcast and water level up slightly compared to previous day but fell several inches during the session.

19 Barbel
