Cold start, then a sunny and warm day. River in good condition, still up a bit and good flow.
During the day fished both upstream of the wood and for a few hours ventured over the hill to fish downstream. Returned above the wood in mid afternoon to fish at the top of the beat just d/stream of the bend. Both barbel were caught from here in the last couple of hours. The chub came from all areas fished throughout the day best was 4lb.
Fished ledgered pellet or small 12mm boils with pellets in a pva bag.

Sunny and calm day, river quite high and running fast but clear. Plenty of flies hatching but few rises, prospected with paras. Trout still wary so missed quite a few, landed 4, 1 at 7", 2 very nice ones at 11", and one beautifully marked and fighting fit at 14". Could only hold on with my 6 ft. rod at first! Great last trout of my season, roll on next year.....

Nice day out, river fining down after floods. Only had 2 barbel including one first cast though the second was a decent 10lb 6oz. Several missed bites late on from chub most likely. Caught on pellet but maybe should have used meat also

A nice beat access to swims difficult due to the muddy wet banks some swims we didn’t attempt to fish in. But a very scenic beat with lots of wildlife all around. DW used a bait dropper loaded with meat fishing near the bank to catch 9 chub all around the 4lb mark.
DP caught a 7.5 lb Barbel ledgering. CS caught 3 chub to 4.5 lb and a Barbel of 6.5lb to halibut pellets and meat ledgering in the middle in the middle of the river.
Thanks Wye and Usk.

River swollen after rain, flowing quite quickly. Small barbel of around 3 lbs caught on luncheon meat.
