Did quite a bit of moving about between showers and found fish in several spots. There's a lot of water to explore and some nice fish to catch.

4 Barbel, 5 Chub

Fished in wooded area caught steady throughout the day ( 10 till 6pm) myself 5 barbel and 5 chub , Steve 3 barbel and 8 chub all fish of good average size (barbel 6/9lb & chub 3/5lb ) all fish caught on feeder/pellet combination, canoes not to bad but there are still some idiots out about?

8 Barbel, 13 Chub

Both anglers fished th duo nearly all day and fish came steadily to both the nymph and dry, with a definite preference for the latter. Tan Klink being the winning pattern today.

3 Trout, 7 Grayling

Weather conditions very bright with no cloud light wind and the river was holding at 8 inches. 2 Nice Browns up from the bridge then my son Robbie hooked into a salmon. He played it very well as it gave him a great scrap on his 8# single handed rod with a 6lb Tippett. Nice hen with a bit of colour estimated at 10lbs on a teal blue and silver single hook. It was returned in perfect condition. I landed a small grayling to finish what was the perfect day.

Fished a parachute Adams with haresear nymph as a dropper. Caught on the dry.

3 takes, nothing landed more of a mountaineering trip, very remote and astounding scenery

All trout caught on terrestrials under the trees. Some rises through the day but generally very quiet.

A very enjoyable day getting to know a new beat. There are some really nice looking swims and although I’m generally not shy of wading through brambles and creating swims, I have to agree with previous posters, that some of the famous pools are simply unfishable. Perhaps this is because they aren’t in regular use, so even if they’re cleared, they quickly become overgrown again. Some of the more easily accessed swims may also be unavailable if an angler is on the opppsote bank.

So I stayed in the few well-used swims and caught several small barbel (8-10ins) and one decent one (7lb) in the island swim and then 3 more (3-5lbs) to finish the afternoon in a calmer swim further upstream.

9 Barbel

Given that I had booked on the brightest day of the week on a beat that I have never fished before I wasn't too optimistic but after lunch I made my way to the river and set up on a stick float and centrepin reel and within half an hour I had a barbel of about 6lb on the bank a short time later I caught two chub to 4+3/4lb before the weather cleared and got even brighter.went on the feeder with pellet for the last hour and had another barbel over 8lbs.A beautiful stretch of river and being mid -week there were only a couple of anglers on the far bank.Barbel and big chub on the 'pin', can't beat it!
