First time for me on this beautiful stretch of water and the manicured gardens provided a picturesque backdrop for a good days fishing.
The action was steady all day despite the river being low there seemed plenty of life and the slightly cooler conditions also seemed to help. All fish were caught on the standard feeder methods and fought ferociously in the usual Wye manner!! Plenty of boat traffic and a few lads enjoyed some swimming upstream of me which fortunately did not seem to put off the fish...
Did try trotting with corn without success but will return to this beat which holds considerable charm and potential.

Not the best days fishing, very hot and bright conditions.

Low and gin clear water, a couple of fish very active in Ferry pool but no takers.

A nice morning on a low clear river, barbel caught first thing.

Saw plenty of fish but didn't manage to connect with any

8lb fish taken from the millstream on fly another lost off the rocks

10lb slightly coloured cock on an Usk grub.

Perfect condition today few fish caugh on nymphs all the rest on dry flys at the lower end of the beat, fish rising all day many missed fish,great sport on the Brook rods and 3 weight line 5 grayling 2 lbs mark best day fishing
