A day with perfect conditions for fly fishing.
There were three other anglers and one did have a salmon just before I arrived but it was another blank for me. Next Year!

The river was low and slow. Looking to catch barbel, we used swim-feeder tactics with boilies and pellets. Typically my fishing buddy managed to find three barbel and I just managed one chub. None of them were big fish. We have had better days on the Wye and indeed at the Creel. Suspect the conditions were a factor, though I also think I had the wrong bait.... again. Bad hands Benfield and Neil.

3 Barbel, 1 Chub

Conditions were near perfect despite the wind, but not fish were showing. I had 3 shy-takes, presumable from salmon, but none were really hooked. At about 14:30, my new rod snapped mid-section and i hadn't brought my spare. A miserable end to the season!

Nice morning fishing. Plenty of bites using float and maggots. Chub up to around the pound mark. Difficult to find many spots where you could get down to the water though.

1 Trout, 12 Chub, 10 Other
